Privacy Policy

Your data belongs to you. Ledger doesn't require an Avenue Apps account, and Avenue Apps doesn't receive your personal data. This page explains what the app stores, where it lives, and how the features that move data between your own devices work.

Stored by the app. Not collected by us.

These are two different things, and they get conflated constantly. Ledger stores information so it can do its job, on your own devices and in your own iCloud account. None of it comes to Avenue Apps. I don't receive it, don't keep a copy, and have no way to read it. There's no Avenue Apps server involved in Ledger at all.

What Ledger stores

Ledger keeps what you type in so the app can do its job, and it's written to your device. For Ledger that means the records you create: invoices, quotes, clients, saved products, and the costs and payments attached to them. You can delete any of it from inside the app, and deleting the app takes the copy on that device with it.

Some of what Ledger stores is financial. Client names, amounts, tax collected, costs, payment status. It's kept exactly the same way as everything else, on your devices and under your control. Ledger doesn't process payments and never asks for card or bank details.

iCloud sync

Ledger syncs between your devices with CloudKit, which puts the data in your own private iCloud database under your Apple Account. That database is yours, not mine. I have no access to it, no way to ask for access, and no ability to read it, and Apple's privacy terms govern how it's held. Syncing through your own iCloud isn't the same as sending your data to a developer, and Ledger only ever does the first one.

Sync is entirely optional, and turning it off is a supported way to run the app rather than a degraded one.

Running Ledger without iCloud

Turn iCloud off for Ledger in your device settings, or switch sync off inside the app, and Ledger keeps everything in a local database on that one machine. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is shared between your devices, and no copy exists anywhere except on that Mac. If you work on a single machine and would rather your invoicing never touched a network, this is the mode to use.

Analytics

There's no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking code in Ledger. I have no idea how often you open it or what you do once you're in there.

What Avenue Apps doesn't do

Your information is never sold, never handed to advertisers or data brokers, and never used as training data. All of that would require receiving it in the first place, which doesn't happen. You don't need an Avenue Apps account to use Ledger, because there's no such thing as one. And there's no tracking across other apps or websites, because there's nothing doing any tracking.

Support email

If you write in for support, I read your message and reply to it. I keep those messages only until the problem is sorted out.

Your control

You can delete anything Ledger holds from inside the app, and deleting the app clears its local data. Removing the app's data in your iCloud settings clears the synced copy too. I hold nothing about you, so there's nothing for me to delete on your behalf and no request you need to send.
