Privacy

The short version: Measure: Ruler & Level doesn't collect any data about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and there's no server for anything to be sent to. Everything stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. We don't receive your data, keep a copy of it, or have any way to read it. There's no Avenue apps server involved in Measure: Ruler & Level at all, and it doesn't use iCloud.

What stays on your device

Your saved measurements, with their names, sizes and, if you chose to save it, their location.

Your ruler calibration, the Improve Accuracy setting for the level, and the app's settings.

The app keeps no record of its own about Pro. Whether Pro is unlocked comes from Apple's App Store purchase system.

The one exception is a small counter of how many free measurements you've used, which the app keeps in your device's Keychain so it survives a reinstall. It never leaves your device.

Internet use

Purchases go through Apple's App Store, when you buy or restore Pro.

If you turn on Save Location, the small map and place name shown on a saved measurement are loaded from Apple Maps (MapKit), which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. Avenue apps receives nothing.

Permissions

Camera: used only by Measure, to find the points you tap. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.

Location: optional, and only asked for if you turn on Save Location. It's used while the app is open to tag a saved measurement, and it's stored only on your device with that measurement.

Motion sensors: used for the level, and they don't need a permission.

Purchases

If you buy Pro, Apple handles the whole purchase through the App Store. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple Account.

Ads, analytics and tracking

There are none. Measure: Ruler & Level has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party code, so we have no idea how often you open it or what you do in it. Nothing is sold, shared or used to track you across other apps or websites.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device, apart from the free-measurement counter in the Keychain. We keep that on purpose, so the free allowance can't be reset by reinstalling. There's nothing held anywhere else, so there's nothing to ask us to delete.

If you email us

If you write in for support, we can read what you send. We use it to answer your question and for nothing else, and we keep the message only until the problem is sorted.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
